Robert Knight's suggestion that it is in the kpty code is correct. The kpty test cases that move data all fail on FreeBSD (only initTestCase() and cleanupTestCase() pass).

miwi pointed out to me that http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdelibs/kpty/kpty.cpp?r1=778431&r2=797384 (the last commit in kpty) is what breaks this, although I'm not quite understanding why this is a problem.
