Yes i recognize choppy scrolling in most kde apps (e.g. KMail, Quassel IRC client [build from source linking against distribution Qt]) but it's much smoother and faster if i do the following:

$ nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 -a GlyphCache=1
