           Summary: SSH on Konsole, Latency
           Product: konsole
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konsole-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: zhchua gmail com

Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

There seem to be a problem when trying to ssh into a remote server through Konsole.

Background:

Konsole for me is running on Xterm (XFree 4.X.X) according the Configure Konsole > Sessions.

davidc grimlock:~$ konsole --version
Qt: 3.3.8b
KDE: 3.5.9
Konsole: 1.6.6

Problem:

When trying to establish a remote ssh connection, I have a latency of a few seconds before being prompted for a password. It seems like Konsole is taking a while to establish connection.

Reproduce:

What I did was to open up a Konsole terminal and try to do a ssh connection like "ssh -l <username> -p 4400 <remoteip>". I've tried this across 3 different physical servers and experienced the same latency.

It doesn't seem to be a network issue all 3 servers are in the same geological location.

Expected Behaviour:

Previously when on my Windows systems, I am able to establish ssh connection with a prompt almost immediately.
