Eric, the command history is provided by the shell, probably 'bash', not Konsole.

If you want to search the history for commands beginning with text then press Ctrl+R and type the first few characters of the command.  Pres Ctrl+R to cycle through matches.  Search for "bash tips and tricks" for more information.
