This happens for me with only one tab open. Script to reproduce:

KONSOLE=`dcopclient $KONSOLE_DCOP`
CURSESSION=$KONSOLE_DCOP_SESSION
NEWSESSION=`dcop $KONSOLE konsole newSession server1`
dcop $KONSOLE $NEWSESSION renameSession server1
dcop $KONSOLE $NEWSESSION sendSession "echo Hello"
