It seems that work on this bug is stalled. As the bug is a regression
you could consider to isolate the diff and post a patch to resolve the
problem.

Some suggest to use GNU screen to work around the regression.
There is some ongoing work to integrate a feature like GNU screen
into the konsole, too.

Actually, it is a group very actively maintaining the konsole. I would not
be able to do this alone.
