Can I have some example use cases?  Does what you have in mind give the same result that making a selection and then middle-clicking does at the moment?  (when you make a selection it is automatically placed on the clipboard, and middle-clicking will send the clipboard contents to the shell).

I really want to be careful with what goes into the various menus in Konsole, to avoid the 'kitchen sink' syndrome where menus become overly large and important items become harder to find.
