This is no crash.

Check with ps from another terminal/xterm/konsole if that konsole is running any child process. Example:

$ ps axf
[...]
 9748 ?        S      0:19  \_ konsole [kdeinit]
 9994 pts/5    Ss+    0:00      \_ /bin/bash
[...]
