Starting with kde 3.4 konsole and minicom don't play well together. Basically what happens is that minicom seems to get into a state where minicom continually tries to resize the screen over and over and over again forever clearing the screen each time. This was not a problem in 3.3.2

Users who have a problem with this can get usefull work done by going into Settings->Configure Konsole->General and unchecking "allow programs to resize terminal"
