Ahh, yes.  It is helpful to actually read the bug report.  Comment #3 deals with 'copying' and you are interested in 'pasting'

I have to ask why is it that when you 'copy' the filename (from Kate) is there a newline on the end?  When you copy from Konsole, you have to be sure just to select the filename (double-clicking is easiest perhaps).

Hmm, I understand what you want... most of this is just human error (User is unsure what in buffer).  I don't really see how this can be done.  Perhaps Ctrl+Paste removes ALL newlines?  or just the last one.
