Are you sure that we are still talking about a KDE-GUI ?

BTW the user profiles are saved in ~/.kde/share/apps/konsole/profiles.

(for some reason I have no $KDEHOME set so
ls $KDEHOME/share/apps/konsole/profiles returns 
/bin/ls: /share/apps/konsole/profiles: No such file or directory
)

obviously and luckilymany things can be done form the shell, but that was not my point.
