           Summary: konsole doesn't remember font chosen, even when saving
                    as default
           Product: konsole
           Version: 1.3.2
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konsole-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: bugs.kde.nospam zorglub s bawue de

Version:           1.3.2 (using KDE 3.2.3,  (testing/unstable))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040422)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.27-5deb1

Hi,

I choose a font in Settings->Font->Custom... (LucidaTypewriter but it doesn't seem to matter which one). Font is correctly modified.
Nevertheless if I go back to the same menu, not "Custom..." is selected, but "Unicode". That's rather cosmetic but perhaps link to the actual problem.
Then I select Settings->Save as Default and quit konsole.
When I restart konsole, my font selection has disappeared and I get the standard font (without all Unicode characters BTW). I couldn't find any way to save my font selection as default, hence I assume it's a bug.

~/.kde/share/config/konsolerc presents the two following lines (among others):

defaultfont=LucidaTypewriter,10,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0
font=8

So, it looks like it's saved but ignored (I tried to set 'font' to 9 and 3, without effect). Starting konsole from another konsole, I couldn't find anything spurious in stdin/stderr.

Thanks, Eric

PS: I've found some similar bug reports, but they were all old 2.x reports and closed, so I created mine. Hope this is OK.
