Two really ugly [non]solutions:
1. Put the tool bars back in. If you want the task bar on the top or bottom,
you get a tab bar. If you want it on the left or right, you get a tool bar.
It's completely transparent to the user up until the time that tool bars and
tab bars are found not to be quite identical. Also lots of functionality
duplication, maintenance headaches, probably high in carbs, too. Bleah.
2. Put the tool bars back in but as an index into groups of sessions -- each
tool bar entry gets its own tab bar, and each tab bar can have multiple
sessions as always. Of course, I'd use it with just one session per tab bar.
In short, this would be introducing a feature nobody (not even me) wants so
that somebody (me) can misuse it to accomplish something else. NOW how much
would you pay??? :^P
So I start coding the latter -- just as an intellectual exercise, mind you --
and I fire up konqueror head on over to the cvs website. I start generating
lots of tabs so I can view several files at once and it hits me... I can't
read the filenames in the tabs. Of course, I could if the tabs were on the
left or right...
Thus, it's a tabwidget problem, not a konsole problem. Hence, I'm off to
tabwidgetland. Watch for postcards.
