[Konsole-devel] Compose key in RH9

Running RH9 KDE I cannot get Compose key functionality in K applications 
like Konsole.  I noticed an entry in the archives about RH stuffing up 
Compose in about 7.3 by changes to Qt or related sources.  Can anyone 
tell me why I can get Compose key functionality in gnome-terminal, gedit 
and mozilla (with utf-8 encoding) but not in Konsole, Kate or Java apps?
