I still confirm this bug.
Just have reproduced this bug exactly following this description.
I've reinstalled kde since bugreport (same version) - bug still remains.
What do you mean "Can't reproduce" - do you mean that you get TERM=xterm-color even when start New Session using Ctrl-Alt-N?
