[Konsole-devel] session configuration

I've been looking at bug 52806, trying to understand how to acquire some
kind of unique identification of a konsole/session. It's easy during any
particular kde login, but experimenting with dcop I can't find anything
that's usable across the logout boundary. Specifically I want the shell to
wake up, use its KONSOLE_DCOP_SESSION info to talk to dcop, to find a
unique identifier that is the same every time that particular
konsole/session on that particular desktop is started, and use the id to
determine where I'll get a history file for the shell.

Any ideas? Seems like there has to be such an id, given that the konsole
appears at the same place in the desktop every time I log in... how hard is
it to make it visible via dcop?

Cheers,

        Gary
