[Konsole-devel] Bug#42178: konsole occasionally fails to start up

I am currently developing software under KDE 3 using KDevelop 2.0 (I won't use KDevelop 2.1 because it insists on trying to reformat my c++ source layout of indents which I don't like becouse my layout of braces etc isn't the same as KDevelops).  When I change desktops and click in the Konsole menu item, KPanel shows the Konsole item trying to startup with the rotating hourglass etc.  but Konsole does not start up at all. Eventually, the icon disappears from the Panel and I have to restart KDE3 to get the Konsole to start up.  This happens a lot and there seems to be no pattern to the other applications which may be running when Konsole refuses to start.  I'm sorry if this seems a little vague, but the konsole doesn't dump a core or anything, and I don't know enough about the internals of KDE to know what's going on
