Subject: kwrited security warning network
From: rkaraff at emory.edu

Package: kwrite
Version: KDE 2.1.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

Mandrake 8.0 installed on 200MHz box, using adaptec scsi adapter/scsi hard drives/cd-rom, 2 nics, dsl. linux boots fine, login as root or any other user ok. if i don't logout for many hours, kwrited takes over the cpu and displays a security warning about certain folders/files that have no owner and are at risk for security leaks. kwrited monopolizes cpu and no other app can work. can hear hard drive chugging away. solutions so far: reset box, which of course linux hates. try to stop kwrited (xkill or normal) takes 30 minutes waiting for mouse/keyboard commands to go through. if i logout before kwrited takes over, all is well. solutions?
