Your message with subj: konsole (and other apps) ignores "dead keys" with RedHat 7.1 + qt 2.3.1

As some of you already assumed, this is a Qt and more specific a RedHat bug:

They applied patch qt-2.3.1-xim-20010617.diff for japanese users to Qt which
breaks dead keys for all other (great RedHat!). Bero says, it is fixed with
KDE 3.0/Qt 3 - the fix for KDE 2.2.2 is to compile Qt from source yourself.

has caused the attached bug report to be marked as done.

This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with.
If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the
bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith.

(NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I'm
talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration
somewhere. Please contact me immediately.)

Subject: konsole don't use special characters
From: bart at avalon.sma.zaz.com.br

Package: konsole
Version: KDE 2.1.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

I'm using KDE in portuguese, and for my surprise konsole isn't aceepting portuguese special characters.
This problem dosen't happened on kde 2.1 beta2 and all other programs are working ok, just konsole not.
When I want a é (is in portuguese) I have to type ' (this is a dead key) then e. But konsole seems not aceept any dead key.
I removed the old konsole options but the bug persists.
This is a BIG problem to me, once I use konsole to program, and sure, I use special characters all time. Please, if the bug is verified, fix it ASAP (don't let it to kde 2.1.1, fix now) beceuse is a major feature broken, and a lot of people will have problems with it (again, if this is confirmed for more people than me).
Thanks
