Package: konsole
Version: 1.1.3 (using KDE 3.0.3 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
I can not type in, or even view the ⬠(euro) symbol in Konsole when it is started from the KDE Panel or typing in konsole in the Application launcher, except in the font selector dialog box, about the Quick brown fox, I can type in the euro.
In the main konsole screen I can only see ?s (question marks).
If however, I start konsole by the bash command line, I get a konsole that works. I tried to compare env output from both konsoles, but they were the same, so it can be an environment issue. (I already have everything set to de_DE at euro or iso-8859-15, even though I don want everything to be in german.)
I wish euro support had nothing to do with locale, language, or env settings. Setting locale simply to get euro support is a hack.
