Package: konsole
Version: KDE 3.0.3
Severity: crash
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3 solaris 8 on an Ultra 60
OS: Solaris
OS/Compiler notes: much experience getting kde / qt to agree with solaris / libs

I build kde from cvs. Previous build was from a checkout of KDE_3_0_BRANCH from a while back. Konsole worked great in that build. This build is an update of KDE_3_0_BRANCH after 3.0.3 was released. Everything from libpng to qt was recompiled. Qt was upgraded to 3.0.5. After resolving some stupid libpng issues (conflicting major versions) I got a finished build of kde 3.0.3. There are no stale bins or configs, the kde prefix was completly removed before rebuild and install as with qt. I even tried removing my .kde* files from my user.

Konsole launches and works fine if you launch it from an rxvt or the 'meta/window-r run box'. Any combination of launching from menu or taskbar button causes it to not launch. I have launched rxvt -e bash --noprofile --norc from the task bar to doublecheck the paths and ld paths... nothing is out of place.. in fact, I can launch konsole from that bash shell. I cannot seem to figure out how to make konsole generate useful information on why it fails. I would be glad to assist a kde developer on tracking this down. At the moment... I have tried everything from my standard debugging bag of tricks.
