There seems to be some fighting between the konsole background and an application that insists on setting its own bg color. I'd be happy if either on could "win" 100%, but as it is it's an uneasy truce with the app background color allowing thin lines of the konsole bg through in between the lines where character cells are placed. I first noticed this using a transparent bg, but it's just one case. E.g., try the "black on light yellow" schema for another example of this.

The app I'm using is the "jed" editor. A screenshot will followup this submission to show what's going on, as in this case a picture really is necessary.
