Subject: konsole crashes when maximum number of ptys is reached
From: rudo at internet.sk
X-KDE-Received: -195.113.24.166

Package: konsole
Version: 1.2 Preview (using KDE 3.0.5 (CVS HEAD >= 20020427))
Severity: normal
Installed from: yes
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i586) release 2.4.19-pre2-ac3-preempt-lock-breaking
OS/Compiler notes:

Konsole crashes when the maximum number of ptys is reached (256 on my system). What's more, it does also crash when there are less than 256 sessions open, but the next tty would be pts/256, if it opened.

I'm not sure whether it is my system's problem or konsole bug, but konsole definitely should behave better than crashing immediately.

To reproduce try opening many sessions in konsole.

I'm using the latest CVS HEAD, but IMHO this bug is there for ages.

Keep up the good work, bye.

Rudo.
