Package: konsole
Version: KDE 3.0.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

meta-<foo> no longer gets through to bash.
For instance (with bash configured to use emacs sequences so meta-b means go backward a word), typing "bar" followed by meta-b jumps backward over "bar" in xterm. This used to work in konsole, too. Now I just get "barb".
Similarly <meta>-f ought to go forward a word, but I just get an "f" inserted.

Note that while bash can convert the eigth bit of input into a prefixed escape (with "set convert-meta on" in a .inputrc), I don't have it set to do so, either in my xterm or in konsole. (It doesn't help in konsole).

I don't know exactly what happened when it used to work, but I wish it still did.
