problems with crashing

I am experiencing some problems with konq-embedded on my development board running a uClinux kernel on a BF537-STAMP board. It has a 500mhz blackfin 537 processor and 64Mb of RAM. Before I launch the browser I am lucky if I have 30Mb of RAM available for an application (this is usually plenty of memory in an embedded system, unless apparently you are trying to use a web browser like konqueror). I am using a static binary version of konqueror with caching disabled, I would rather it be a little slow than eat up all the available memory and die a horrible death. Here are some problems I want to know if others experience this:

 1) When I change and save settings in "Network preferences" Konqueror usually crashes. Does this happen to anyone else? Is it because it is looking for a file to update that doesnt' exist? The changes seem to persist when I reopen the browser, but I am hoping to prevent the crash somehow.

2) When Konqueror does crash (which is often for me) it does not always release all its allocated memory and resources (like frame buffer device etc).

3) It would seem that both QT-embedded and Konqueror-Embedded suggest compiling and building WITHOUT Real Time Type Information (RTTI) because of size and speed constraints, however without RTTI included my javascript does not seem to work at all. With RTTI javascript works somewhat, but still crashes on some. I haven't yet isolated the type of javascript that causes it to crash but it is very fragile.

4) Even when I have "reject" selected for cookies in Network Preferences I still get asked.

5) Even when I disable javascript in Network Preferences some javascript still works.

Are there configuration files or scratch pad files that I am missing?
