"stacking" files

 Using Konq with Mandrake Linux.  is it possible to "stack" thumbnails
together such as grouping all files by month instead of having them
scattered within a directory (folder)?

e.g. after scanning several docs as .tiff files for January, I would like to
be able to "stack" and view these thumbnails  instead of creating a new
directory.
