viewing my 127.** websites

hi konqueror guys,

none of my locally hosted websites come up, I can't pull up despite good hosts entries.  Only a konqueror problem.  I have 

3.0.3-13 using kde 3.0.3-8 redhat out of the box.  I haven't upgraded, as my rpm machinery is broke or soemthing, and am waiting for a full upgrade soon.  

The error message which comes up is like:

An error occured while loading http://www.myowndictionary.com:


Could not connect to host www.myowndictionary.com


/etc/hosts has

127.0.0.1               localhost.localdomain localhost www.myowndictionary.com
