if you check $QTDIR/lib ,there should be libqte-mt.so or libqte.so and some symble links.In configure, it try to find libqt-mt or libqt.I changed the configure file to find qte-mt or make a link named libqt-mt to libqte.so .the problem  solved.
I download gcc3.2.3 and gnuutils and installed on rh9  ,used -with-gnu-ld,the link problem solved. I guess g++ and ld  compiled by rh could not work correctly
