user interface configuration options?

Is it possible to configure the user interface to look more like a
standard browser for machines limited by storage and memory but not
limited by screen space such as internet appliances and thin clients?

I'm thinking of things like a status bar, text labels and a throbber.  The
minimal window is perfect for small screen devices, but I think there are
applications for konq e where screen size is not at such a premium.  If
this has not been done, I would like to work on this.
