Future of 3_way_kompare branch

Now that we are 3 people interested in the branch, I think we should really 
discuss where exactly we want the branch to go so we can work together rather 
than against each other. Therefore, I'm starting this thread (both Andreas 
and me just subscribed to the list).

Jeff Snyder said he was going to write up his plans of where he'd like the 
branch to go, so I suggest to wait for that writeup, then discuss from there.
