Hi,
I am in the process of teaching my mom how to use a computer because
I'm going to college. I decided that instead of teaching her teaching
the proprietory windows, just set her up with Slackware using KDE as
the WM.

The only icons on the Desktop: KMail, Konqueror (internet), and Kopete
(and ofcourse in the background ssh daemon for me).

Unfortunately I just hit a hurdle with KMail. KMail works fine for
receiving mail with the POP HOST: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com.

However sending mail is where I am having problems.

The settings for KMail Sending Account:

Name: SBCSMTP
Host: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
Port: 25
Precommand: (blank)

Server required authenthication: (checked)
Login: guddys at sbcglobal.net
Password: ********
Store SMTP assword in configuration file: (checked)

Encryption: None
Authentication Method: Login (also tried Plain)

After I compose a message and hit send it sends the message without
any problems. The message also shows up in the sent-mail.... But the
message never makes it through to the receipient :(... I tried fooling
around with all the settings, but the same outcome... the message gets
sent sucessfully, but it never comes through to the reciepient. I have also
tried sending it to my self, but it still doesn't come through.

Thinking it might have been some kind of error with Slackware's KMail,
I used my LFS built system's KMail and experienced the same problem
using my account.

Could someone tell me how to proceed... I really want to keep the
interface by using integrated KMail and Konqueror.

I know there it is also possible to use sendmail in conjunction with
KMail.... if there is no other way, could someone give me a pointer on
how to set it up?

Thanks in Advance,
Saad
