Hi,
I would like to propose some changes to the current state of KNode. As there
are much more bug reports being filed almost every day than there are hands
to fix them, I plan to start a major remake of parts of KNode to make it more
maintainable and hopefully better for everyone.
I also want to make Knode look and behave more like KMail. No, I don't think
we should do a merge as KNode and KMail are different apps with different
purposes and we already have Kontakt. Yet, more code will probably be shared
with KMail -- KMail and KNode already use a lot of common code, although much
of the code that was taken from KMail into libraries are still not used
(efficiently) in KNode. I will change that.
Also, KNode will have a new, more flexible filter system. More important: I'd
like to work more in the usability issues KNode has at the moment.
I am creating a new branch in the KNode CVS to start playing with it. As soon
as the new KNode is usable and HEAD is open for commits, I will merge.
Hopefully when this happens a large part of the bug reports will be resolved.
If you want to help, please let me know.
Roberto.
