Hello maillist,
Just downloaded KMM 5.2 (latest AppImage kmymoney-5.2-4562-linux-gcc-x86_64) after I had to reinstall my OS from scratch.
OS is Linux Mint XFCE 22.1:
Kernel: 6.8.0-64-generic arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 13.3.0 clocksource: tsc
Desktop: Xfce v: 4.18.1 tk: Gtk v: 3.24.41 wm: xfwm4 v: 4.18.0 with: xfce4-panel
tools: light-locker vt: 7 dm: LightDM v: 1.30.0 Distro: Linux Mint 22.1 Xia base: Ubuntu 24.04 noble
However, I've noticed several major issues with 5.2, having t do some work ASAP I reverted to 5.1 in the meantime. However heres some observations:
1. UI is very laggy, most clicks takes 2-5 sec, app also takes 10x longer than 5.1 to start (I timed 10 to 15secs to start with a blank state, i.e. no file loaded). But to be transparent, also with 5.1, the app doesnt feel smooth. For example, when I click on a menu in the top menu bar (for example File or Transacton) the menu try doesnt immediately highlight,. The UI feels I am managing a remove server via IPMI........
2. Online price sources disappeared out of the blue after installing Yahoo.com currency.... I have no idea why but I created two sources and configured them, tested them and saved then closed the app. Upon re-launching it, they were still there and working, then after facing the issue #3 below, I tried installing Yahoo currency and my sources were gone.
3. Source KMyMoney Currency does not exist. Ehh????
4. Appimage has no icons. I tried installing icon themes in my OS or changing the icon theme in KMM to no avail.
5. IMO, the "entry" column in the ledger is mostly useless. Its too much information and its confusing. At least we can remove it. Unfortunately I could not find a way to get rid of the "Details" column which is literally giving me a migraine...
Looking forward to see whats going on with 5.2, at least for me ;)
Thanks!
