That version (5.1.80-7f2c37e) is the development state of Mar 12, 2024.
A lot has happened 'til then wrt to the source code (1116 changes).
Just wanted to make you aware of that.

Seeing that the file was not truncated and still worked in the older version of KMyMoney, I did a check with xmllint, and I ended up fixing the file like this:

Since your version is about 18 months old, I would not suggest to
open bug reports on it.

The current source has an extra option to do that. You may want to take
a look at https://discuss.kde.org/t/why-are-preferred-accounts-hidden-from-home-page-display-sections-payment-accounts/38448
how this looks like now.
> And finally, https://kmymoney.org/macos.html describes the current status of KMyMoney on MacOS. I'm definitely not qualified to help out here, and I don't really need any of the 5.2 features, but I was wondering whether there's anywhere where I can read up on whether further mac builds are planned? Or in other words: are we hoping for the right person to come along to make new builds, or is there a technical blocker that means that this may be a dead end?
Well, to be honest, it's a bit of all of that. The dev team (unfortunately)
is very small. The versions we provide drop of the KDE CI/CD infrastructure
which is maintained and developed by a completely different (though KDE)
team. The code to support builds for MacOS is available, but it fails along
the way for some MacOS specific reason and thus has been disabled to save
energy and compile resources for others. It requires someone with the
necessary knowledge to figure out and fix. So far, we don't have that
knowledge on the KMyMoney team.
So to answer your questions: builds are not planned but wanted and we're
hoping for the right person to show up to fix the technical (MacOS specific)
blocker. I would not call it a dead end. Maybe, you have ideas where to
recruit that person or can even help out to find one.

Many thanks for that. Small things add up.
