It is possible that the residual is indeed due to a rounding problem,  
which I believe was fixed some time ago.  As the split is a likely  
candidate, the first, quick, thing I would try is to edit and save that  
stock split transaction.  That should apply the newer rules to the  
calculation of the number of shares.  There is also a perl script to  
help identify such transactions, but I've got to hunt for it and then  
figure out how to use it.

In terms of finding your data file, its name is shown on the title bar  
of the program, and if you do a File/Open... it should show you the  
directory where the file is located.  (If you are using an SQL back  
end, then you don't have a "data file" you have a "data database.")
