I don't understand your problem.  4.8 is the correct latest version of 
KMyMoney, if your distro doesn't support 5.0.  The about KMyMoney dialog 
will say 4.8 as the version of KMyMoney, and (per your example below) 
4.14.16 (or something close) as the version of the underlying KDE 
Platform.  It represents the level of the underlying KDE libraries that 
KMyMoney uses.  You had the correct link to Claydoh's PPA.  Also - be 
sure you're looking at the About KMyMoney dialog, and not the About KDE 
one.  That just gives the version of the underlying KDE libraries.
