Sorry in future I will include that information.

Yes it is a bona fide ofx file. I copied it across from kmm 4.8 data folder.
When I got the anomalous behavior in kmm5 I opened it and checked that it was not corrupted.
To make sure I then downloaded both a QIF and an OFX of the same statement from my bank.
The QIF imported OK (not checked thoroughly), but the OFX produced the same behavior as before.
I then checked that the OFX imported correctly into 4.8.

Yes no error message or clue. I wonder if running kmm from the terminal would yield any further info.
I am still rebooting back and forth so it is not as easy to try out any new ideas.

Further to the above, the ofx File Open screen on kmm5 has the bottom option message and selection box 
missing. This is the box for "Payee name based on.."

Have changes been made in this area?

The output of running kmm5 from the terminal is below:
The last three lines are from the ofx file import.
It seems to be looking for an account "". No such account is found in the account list.
Can anyone confirm similar behavior? Has the OFX plugin been ported to KF5 yet?
