[Kmymoney] Kmymoney performance issues

All,

I was hoping to get some help from this list.  A while back, I posted 
issues with performance using the database (MariaDB) functionality of 
Kmymoney.  This has continued to deteriorate since then.  I have done 
all recommended actions.  My wife and I have argued over this.  It takes 
as much as 30 minutes to load, update, or just go from home to ledgers 
screens.

Since I am using the database and there is no archiving functions in 
Kmymoney, I have to do something or change software.  I need help 
writing sql to update and delete records.  I have a database backup 
using mysql workbench to a backup schema

The sql needs to sum each accounts transactions and update a beginning 
balance transaction for a date range.  This needed for each asset and 
liability account.  The sql needs to delete all transactions for both 
income and expense categories over the same date range.

All in all the database functions for Kmymoney suffer series problems 
because minor things are so slow.  If the logic is to work on a record 
by record and refresh all calculations, then some thought probably 
should be given to how this can be improved.

I have all my transactions back to 2000 for all bank, investment, loans, 
and others.
