[Kmymoney] RES: RES: Cannot delete account

Thank you very much.
Let me be more specific and explain what I need to do so you can guide me in
one single step:

I created a lot of investment accounts and its associated brokerage accounts
to track my investments.
As I need a little more control over my portfolio and it is becoming very
disperse, I decided to use an specific software to handle my portfolio and
decided to close all my investment accounts in KMM. The problem is that I
have open trades in the investment accounts and so it does not balance to
zero. What I'm doing is deleting each and every investment account
transactions (open positions) and this will make my brokerage accounts to
change its balance. That is fine.
The next step is to close the brokerage account as such, because I do not
want to consider these accounts in KMM anymore, but here I cannot delete the
transactions, because I have money transferred from in use accounts to these
broker accounts and doing so would cause my other accounts (those with
transfers to and from the Broker accounts) to become incorrect.
So, after closing the investments account, how do you suggest to handle my
broker account, which will have a balance different from zero? The best
option I came out with is to change each transfer transaction to something
else (another category) and then delete the records in the broker account
and close it? Doing this I suppose I could also delete the account, as it
would not being referenced by any other accounts anymore. But I think it is
better to only close them, because doing so I keep my accounts structure
just in case.

If I close the how can I hide them from view? Is it possible?

Thank you

Rhaufed,

you can only close an account if its balance is zero. Otherwise it is still
in use.
