Allan,
I used to enter transactions the way you do but I found (like Niranjan) that I 
got rounding errors. I think it depends on the values and number of decimal 
places you use but sometimes I found that the total amount did not come out 
exactly right using your method. It would sometimes be a penny off. By entering 
the total amount and number of shares, KMyMoney doesn't change those values 
and they are always correct with no rounding on the total amount.
