[Kmymoney] work on previous year

Hello,

As I'm starting accounting on KMyMoney, I realise that whatever date of
creation given to my account (many years ago !, it is credited with the
"opening balance" I declared on the 01/01/2012 (instead of... let's say
2000 !).

As my bank statement is from 5 to 5 (here 5/12/2011 - 5/01/2012) I just
can't reconciliate. I couldn't declare an opening balance on  5/12/2011...

What should be the correct way for this opening balance ?
