Hi James

There has been an issue with additional accounts being created, which,
if memory serves me, resulted from a rework of the import process to
reduce the need for user intervention. I think this was because of a
particular user's large volume of new accounts to input.

I'm not certain if the issue affects only investment accounts, with
brokerage accounts being created. Funnily enough, only yesterday, I
was working on a qif import problem. While it was not the intent of
the fix, testing afterwards confirmed that it may not be necessary to
create accounts before import. Checking type accounts were created
automatically for proceeds of sales/receipt of dividends/funds for buys,
as long as the file names were correct in the 'L' records. That fix
will go into the development branch, and later into the stable release.

I note that you posted via sourceforge, and wonder if that indicates
you were trying kmymoney v1.x. If so, try a v4.5x release, as much work
has been done recently. Try to get as late a release as possible, as
there were some slow performance issues prior to 4.5.3.

Could you perhaps try importing just a couple of files of checking and
investment accounts, and let us know how you get on We'll try to help.

Allan
