[Kmymoney] File access problems under VMWare [RESOLVED]

After much experimentation and assistance from Thomas Baumgart I have:

1. Switched from Ubuntu 11.04 to Kubuntu 11.04 as my VMWare client OS

2. Disabled VMWare "Shared Folders" and am using samba shares instead.

KMyMoney works great now.

Other Linux apps (eg: gPodder) were also unable to use files exposed via 
VMWare Shared Folders.
