Investment amounts denominated in currencies other than the base currency are
excluded from the system
Hello KMyMoney Development Team,
First of all, thank you very much for this amazing personal finance software.
It has been incredibly helpful for managing my accounts.
I am reaching out to propose a small usability improvement regarding investment
accounts held in currencies different from the system's base currency.
Currently, when viewing the investments list, assets that are denominated in a
foreign currency show a balance of "0,00" under the foreign currency column if
they are mapped to a different base currency container, or they convert
everything directly without preserving the visibility of the original
transaction currency amount. This behavior makes manual reconciliation with the
bank or brokerage statement quite challenging, as we cannot quickly verify the
exact nominal value held in the original currency.
**Suggested Change:**
Would it be possible to enhance the interface so that investment entries
explicitly display their balance/value in their original currency alongside the
calculated base currency conversion?
I have attached a screenshot highlighting the areas where the original values
appear as zero or are missing, making the reconciliation process
counter-intuitive.
Thank you for your time, dedication, and for considering this request to make
KMyMoney even better.
Best regards,
Silvio Messias
