Bug ID: 519989
Summary: Poor contrast in selection dialogs (black text on dark
blue background)
Classification: Applications
Product: kmymoney
Version First 5.2.2
Reported In:
Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: ux-ui
Assignee: kmymoney-devel at kde.org
Reporter: e.brunmueller at gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
In several selection/input dialogs in KMyMoney, the selected item is displayed
with black text on a dark blue background. This results in very poor
readability and insufficient contrast.
The issue is especially visible in dropdown lists and selection fields where
highlighted entries become difficult to read.
Observed behavior:
- Selected entries use a dark blue highlight color
- Text remains black instead of switching to a light color
- Contrast is too low for comfortable reading
Expected behavior:
- Selected text should use a contrasting foreground color (e.g. white or light
text on dark background)
- The application should respect the active Qt/KDE color scheme correctly
- Highlighted entries should remain clearly readable in all supported themes
Environment:
KMyMoney version: 5.2.2-170c6c5
KDE Framewaorks: 6.24.0
Qt version: 6.10.2
Distribution: Windows 11 Version 25H2
Additional notes:
The problem appears to be related to theme/color handling in Qt/KDE
integration.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open KMyMoney
- Open a dialog containing a dropdown or selection list
- Select or highlight an entry
- Observe the black text on dark blue background
Impact:
The issue negatively affects usability and accessibility, especially during
frequent data entry tasks.
