This sounds similar to the problem I had last year. I compile KMM from source
so Thomas gave me a way to revert the git changes (873ee771 for the master,
5f85e886 for the 5.2 branch) until I could remove the transactions that were
causing the problem in my KMM file. I was not using a database file but my KMM
file has been around for 20 years so it contained problematic transactions from
over 10 years ago that were not caught back then. I eventually found and
deleted the bad transactions and no longer have to revert the KMM changes.
I mention this in case it will help you. If you search the developer mailing
list archives in September and October 2025, look for the thread with the title
"Problem opening KMM file" to see if anything helps.
