Creating a subcategory

Welcome to KMyMoney Laura

Does the attached screen recording help? It shows one way you should be able to
create a subcategory called "Food" under a parent category called "Groceries".

It would help if you could say more exactly which step is not working for you.
(I'll do another one for splitting transactions)
