An additional minor point, which might make an implementation more difficult. 
There is no need for both Category and Account columns - only one of them is
typically used.  However, in a "split transaction" there are more than one
Categories present, so we would need to decide how to handle that situation. 
Also, most of those in favor of adding the columns have large monitors, which
is certainly more common than it used to be.  However, some users still have
smaller monitors, and adding columns would not work for them.  Some how, we
need to accommodate both needs, and I suspect this will be a more difficult
change, as it require the ability to display a value (such as Category) either
in its own column, or as part of a column with other values (as the current
full details does.)
