Jack thank-you for the comments which I agree with.

My aim with this suggestion was to remove a mechanism where a user could
accidentally make changes to an account ledger that will affect, and cause
confusion, with future account reconciliations.

I believe that “Accidentially” clicking on the C column of an account ledger
entry in “normal” operation should not change the reconciliation status of that
entry.

However, when in an account ledger “reconciliation” operation in KMYMoney
5.2.2, clicking on the C column to change between “Blank” and “C” values makes
perfect sense and is an efficient way of “clearing” entries during an account
reconciliation operation.

Regarding your comment "requiring extra user confirmation to make any change
affecting the reconciliation status of the account", I did open bug 518881 that
I believe covers this. I couldn't find any existing bug that just "required
extra user confirmation".
