Having used KMyMoney, and discovered better how it works in different "modes"
of operation, I don't believe this ticket now makes complete sense. My
intention is to close this ticket.

I have opened two other "wishlist" tickets that I do believe are sensible
changes. These are:
Bug 518879 "Account Ledger Normal Operation - Prevent changing reconciliation
status by click on column C"
Bug 518881 "Account Ledger - Implement a user warning if a previously
reconciled transaction is edited"
